As a wedding photographer, I always like to check the wedding venue prior to taking photography of the wedding so that I get familiarize with the place.

Eagle Ridge Golf Course in in Gilroy, California. The wedding venue is in a gated community. It is about half a mile from the entrance and it is on your left hand side. The club house is medium size and the grass and garden is well kept.
As I entered the club (bar area), I noticed the large windows and white walls. Yup, I look for those for lighting and bouncing my flash. The bar area was well lit by the window. There was stairs behind the bar that goes up to the balcony.
In the reception room, adjacent to the bar, they were prepared for a wedding that was scheduled for that day and they let me in to check it out. The room again had large window (great for no flash photography)which is a thumbs up for me. The tables was set up nicely and neatly spaced around the table. I noticed that they did not have the very tall flowers in the center of the table that usually gets in the way when taking pictures of the guests sitting on the table. Instead, they have a vase with a candle inside it. Despite not having a flower on the table like most weddings that I’ve been too, the arrangement of the tables is still elegant. There are door dividers further into the room between the dance floor and main reception site that can be opened to accommodate more guest.
Walking further into the room, I see the dance floor which is just the right size for a party that they serve at Eagle Ridge Golf Club/ Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Center. There is also a large fireplace in front of the dance floor. The dance floor is also where they set up the food for buffet type dinner.
During the wedding, the staff were very friendly / nice. I noticed the DJ/MC and the coordinator asking the bride and the groom if she/he needed anything. The DJ/MC was updating me constantly so that I know what is up next. Other wedding venues I’ve been too, I was always on the look out for something to happen. Overall, it was a great experience for me and I’d be more than happy to work with the Eagle Ridge Golf Club / Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Center crew again.
